Golf Biomechanics

Golf Biomechanics is an approach that works alongside professional golf instruction to identify and resolve physical constraints in the body that could affect efficiency, power, and swing path. It is an effective way to prevent/ resolve golf injuries and enhance performance on the course.

Skill emergence in the golf swing is a result of learned behaviour from golf instruction and practice, but can be limited by the underlying constraints of the body's ability to move adequately.  For example, weakness or restriction in the foot could result in compensations up the chain resulting in injury or reduced power.

Often times, movement constraints can be linked to swing faults especially when fatigued as the body will subconsciously choose the path of 'least threat' and compensate by moving through other joints or planes where it perceives less that. Movement screens are used to identify these problems and interventions and exercises are used to resolve the issues resulting in pain free, efficient and powerful movements.
